Returning a car hire to Valencia Railway Station: Spain car hire

Plaça de l’Ajutament in Valencia’s historic city centre

Valencia is a city that surprises. It doesn’t have the reputation of other Spain city break destinations like Madrid or Barcelona but it boasts fantastical architectural and cultural sites, is located right on the beach, has some incredible green spaces as well as being a stone’s throw away from where the paella was born. See our Valencia travel blog for more of our highlights as well as our guides to Valencia Airport and Valencia car hire. And if you still need to book your Spain car hire, you can get a quote here…

In this guide, we take you through car hire at Valencia Railway Station and returning your car hire here… If you’re looking to return your car hire to Valencia Airport, you can find our guide to doing that here

Get the right Valencia Railway Station

There are actually two main railway stations in Valencia but the one you need if you’re collecting or returning your car hire is Valencia Joaquin Sorolla Station. When booking, you’ll likely see it simply as Valencia Railway Station or Valencia AVE Railway Station as it serves the mainline and AVE high-speed routes.

Car rental companies based on-site at the station include: Enterprise / Atesa, Europcar, Avis and Budget. Also, if you have an Alamo car hire and have chosen to return it to this location, you’ll need to return it to Europcar as they service those cars.

There are other car hire companies available nearby who may also give their location as ‘Valencia Railway Station’ but do make sure you check your booking voucher or with your agent as the instructions for returning your car hire will be different to our guide here.

Driving to Valencia

Valencia Joaquin Sorolla Station is located just a stone’s throw away from the historic city centre – actually just south of it. It’s easily accessible from the ring road around Valencia (V-30) as well as two other motorways heading to Valencia: V-31 and V-15.

Once you’re in the city, you should see signs for ‘estacions Odif’, which will point you in the direction of both Joaquin Sorolla station and Estacion del Nord (the other main train station in Valencia) – they’re actually only 10 minutes walk from each other!

Once in the city, look out for yellow and green signs to ‘Estacions Odif’

Access to the car park for car hire drop-off is from Av. de Giorgia where it meets with Career de Sant Vincent Màrtir.

From the V-30 ring road, take exit 3 for Av. Ausias March. Follow it to the top of the road where there is a big junction where you’ll need to take a left onto Av. Peris i Valero. You should see a sign for ‘Estacions Odif’ pointing you this way at the junction. This road continues onto Av. de Giorgia. Stay in the right lane as you’ll need to come off it as you approach the station for the car park.

Bear right for the station car park

The V-31 continues onto Av. Ausias March so you can follow the steps as above.

At the station car park

The rent-a-car area within the car park is well sign posted. After entering, you’ll need to head towards your right. You’ll see rows of cars and just need to look out for the logo of your car hire company. Remember that if you’ve got an Alamo car hire, you should park it in a Europcar spot.

Dropping off the keys

The car hire desks are at the top of the car park right outside the station entrance so just head towards it and you’ll soon see them to the left of the station entrance.

Drop box for keys

If you’re returning the car out of office hours, they each have a drop box just outside their office.

Until next time, safe travels!
