Badajoz Airport is the main gateway to the Extremadura region, in eastern Spain. The airport is located 20kms east of Badajoz and about 50kms west of Merida. Full of cobbled streets, medieval homes and Renaissance palaces, the area has also been given World Heritage site status from UNESCO. From Caceres, Trujillo is just half an hour’s drive east.

Aside from historic settlements, Extremadura has some incredible natural landscapes you can enjoy too. Monfrague National Park, the International Tagus Nature Reserve and the Cornalvo Nature Reserve are the best places to enjoy them.
