British Airways: London to Almeria | Travel Blog | DriveSpain.com

New to the summer season, British Airways has added a London to Almeria route to its roster of flights to Spain. The new service connects London Heathrow to Almeria on the south coast of Spain. The airline will fly twice weekly to Almeria from 27 March 2018 until October 2018. Flights depart from London Heathrow Airport, Terminal 5, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Return flights start from £66, with hand baggage only. British Airways also have regular flights to nearby Malaga and Murcia.

Commenting about the new service, BA’s director of network and alliances said:

“We’re extremely happy to start flying to Almeria, situated on part of Spain’s most unspoilt shores.

If you want to jump into crystal clear water, explore the volcanic cliffs of the Wild West and drink sangria in the desert, then this stunning part of Andalucía is a dream holiday destination.”

Other airlines flying from London to Almeria from the UK include easyJet, Ryanair, Thomas Cook and TUI Airlines.

For Beaches & the Wild West (or South) of Spain

Almeria is the gateway to the Costa de Almeria and features some fantastic beaches such as those around Cabo de Gata and Roquetas de Mar. The city itself also holds lots of appeal with the its 17th century a highlight. And whilst it may not geographically be the Wild West of Spain, the nearby Tabernas desert has served as the Wild West in the US for classic movies such as ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’. The desert is about 30kms north of Almeria and is easily accessible with an Almeria Airport car hire.
