A Coruña Airport

A Coruña (also known as La Coruña) is one of three international airports in Galicia. However, between them, there aren’t actually many international routes available. From the UK, you can fly to A Coruña from London Heathrow via Vueling. TAP Portugal also fly to the Galician city from Lisbon but that’s about it for international flights to A Coruña. Clearly, Spain’s northern coast isn’t as popular as its southern coast! But for those that make the journey, they’ll be rewarded with wild coasts, incredible seafood and quieter beaches. A Coruña is also just a really lovely town to spend some time in with several lovely beaches. You can reach A Coruña’s city centre in just 15 minutes from the airport via the AC-14 or N-550.

The airport itself is fairly small and is easy to get around. The Arrivals Hall has a restaurant, small sushi bar and a convenience store called Divers. There are a couple of cash machines (ATMs) here too. The Arrivals Hall is also where you’ll find the car hire desks. You’ll see them straight away once you enter the Arrivals Hall from Baggage Reclaim. They’re right by the exit doors of the terminal.

The airport has a good selection of car hire companies actually located within the terminal. They include: AvisBudget, HertzThrifty, Europcar, EnterpriseAlamo and OK Rent-a-Car. As is common in many locations, brands that are affiliated share desks. So if you’ve got a Dollar car, you should go to the Hertz-Thrifty desk and if you’ve got a Keddy car, you should go to Europcar’s desk.

Car hire Parking

There are three car parks at the airport: General Parking, Car Rental Parking and Express Parking. With the exception of OK Rent-a-Car, all the other companies use Car Rental Parking, which is directly behind General Parking. OK Rent-a-Car has cars in Express Parking, which is located to the north side of the airport.

Car hires with Avis-Budget, Hertz-Thrifty, Europcar or Enterprise-Alamo: after exiting the terminal, start walking towards your right. At the crossing, cross the road to the car park on your left. There is a covered walkway to take you through General Parking to Car Rental Parking.

Car hires with OK Rent-a-Car: after exiting the terminal, walk towards your right as above. But instead of crossing the road to the main car park, keep walking a little further and you’ll find Express Parking on your right.

Here’s a picture of the crossing between the main car parks and the terminal. In the picture, General Parking and Car Rental Parking are on the left and Express Parking is on the right.

From the terminal, cross the road to your left for Car Rental Parking or walk to your right for Express Parking and OK Rent-a-Car

Don’t forget to check the car so you’re happy with it as well as to point out any scratches or bumps already on it. And once you are happy, all there is to do is follow the signs out. And enjoy Galicia!
