Collecting an Alicante Airport car hire | DriveSpain.com

If, like most people visiting the Costa Blanca, you’re collecting an Alicante Airport car hire, here’s the low down on the car hire companies you’ll find on-site at the airport as well as how to find them after landing. We also have a guide to returning a car hire to Alicante Airport.

Alicante Airport car hire

Arrivals Hall at Alicante Airport

Several companies have desks inside the terminal of Alicante Airport. You’ll find them all just a short walk after entering the Arrivals Hall from Baggage Reclaim. Just start walking towards your right. Walk past the Tourist Information desk and Ars and Rodilla eateries and you’ll soon see them up ahead. There are handy signs in bright yellow pointing you in the right direction on the floor too!

On-airport car hire

On your right are Goldcar, Sixt and Record Go Rent-a-Car

On your left… Centauro Rent-a-car, Avis, Europcar, Hertz and National/Atesa

Avis Rent-a-car

Europcar, Hertz and National Atesa Rent-a-Car

Got an Alamo car hire? Head to the National/Atesa desk as they’ll be able to sort you out.Although you can walk up to these on-site car hire desks to book a car hire on arrival, you’ll get a better deal and will avoid disappointment (busy periods may mean much less choice!), by booking in advance.

On to the car park

Once you’ve sorted out the paperwork and picked up your keys, head towards the multi-storey car park opposite the airport terminal. You can walk directly to it via various walkways on the second floor (the departures level).

Take the lift or walkway up a level

If you carry on walking just beyond the car hire desks, you’ll see a couple of lifts plus moving walkways up and down to other levels. Alternatively, you could just exit the airport from the arrivals floor and cross the road but the former option saves you having to deal with airport traffic with your luggage.

Head across to the car park

Once you’ve got to the multi-storey car park opposite the airport, look for your car hire company’s sign on the lift options to know which floor you need to find your car.

Check which level the car hire company you need is on

Just to confuse you, the car park levels don’t correspond to the airport terminal levels so level 2 of the airport (which is where you’ll have gone to cross over via the walkway and escape the street traffic) is level 4 of the car park. Car rentals are parked on levels 0, 1, 2 and 3 of the car park.

Inside the car park

After you’ve found your car, don’t forget to check it for scratches and bumps and that these correspond to the paperwork you’ve been given. And once you’re happy that all is well, just follow the signs out.

Got a rental with an off-airport car hire company?

You can sometimes get cheaper deals with car hire companies that don’t have a desk within the airport. It’s still fairly easy to pick your car hire up so just make sure you note down the details of what you need to do when you book your Alicante Airport car hire.

Off-airport car hire companies including Dickmanns Rent a CarAdvantageSol-Mar and Drivalia all offer courtesy buses to take customers to their car hire office and where you can pick up your car rental. Just head down to level -2 after entering the Arrivals Hall and to the relevant bus stop (this will be in your car hire booking details).

Happy driving!
