Valencia is a perfect getaway for people looking for a mixture of cosmopolitan city, sun, sand and sea as well as natural wonders inland too. Having your own set of wheels is the best way of exploring beyond the city. In this guide, we take you through the process of collecting a Valencia Airport car hire. It includes what car hire companies you’ll find on-site at Valencia Airport (as well as a few of those that are just a short distance away) and where to pick up your rental.
Valencia Airport car hire
Several car hire companies have a prime spot actually on-site at Valenca Airport. They include: Avis, Budget, Enterprise / Atesa, Hertz / Thrifty and Europcar. People booking through Alamo car hire can also head to the Europcar desk. Another car hire company, Firefly, are also on-site at the airport but they don’t have a desk inside the airport. If you’ve booked a Firefly car rental, just head straight to the car park where car hires are (more info on how to find it below). For other Valencia Airport car hire, see further down.
Who’s here in the airport?
All on-site car hire desks are located together in the arrivals hall but also have windows facing onto the baggage reclaim hall so you can actually head to the relevant car hire desk whilst you wait for your luggage.
The desks are towards the middle of the arrivals hall or opposite baggage belts 6, 7 and 8 in the baggage reclaim hall.
Got your keys, now for the car…
All on-site car hire is parked in a multi-storey car park opposite the airport terminal. Once you’ve got the keys and all the paperwork’s sorted, head out of the airport and cross over the road to the car park. Car hires are actually in the far right hand side of the car park. So don’t enter the car park just yet – walk towards your right and you’ll soon see signs to the entrance to the car hire bit.
All car hire is on the ground floor of the car park. The area is well signposted with car hire company logos and parking bay numbers so your car should be easy to find. Each company also has a kiosk in the car park. However, they are unlikely to be staffed outside of busy periods like the summer.
More Valencia Airport car hire
Other companies including Goldcar, Click & Rent, Dickmanns and Sixt car rental have an office a short distance from the airport terminal. If you have a car hire with one of these companies or another company not already mentioned in this post, do make sure you check your booking voucher or with your agent about how to collect your car hire.
It’s very likely that they have a free shuttle service to take passengers between the airport and their office. Goldcar, Click & Rent, Dickmanns and Sixt car rental all offer their own shuttle service. The pick up point at the airport is just outside the main exit on the departures level.
From the arrivals hall, use the lift or stairs up to the departures level by the Tourist Information office. Exit the airport using the nearby doors (also close to the News & Books shop). Shuttle buses stop just outside the airport here – look out for your car hire company’s logo.
Don’t forget to read the instructions for returning your car hire. Many off-airport companies require you to return the car to their office. You can then pick up their shuttle bus to get to the airport.
Already in Valencia?
If you’re already in Valencia, collecting a Valencia Airport car hire can still be convenient. Especially if you’re flying out of Valencia and want to return a car hire to Valencia Airport. The airport is easy to get to from the city as it’s a stop at the end of two metro lines.
