Reus Airport is the main gateway to the Costa Dorada in Catalonia. It’s a small airport and currently only has year-round flights to and from London and Eindhoven. However, there’s a much wider choice of flights during the busier summer season. Barcelona Airport is the next nearest airport and is a good alternative if you’re struggling to find a good flight into Reus. Girona Airport further up along the coast is another airport serving Catalonia. Once there, it’s easy to get around and explore the region with a car hire.

Located just a few kilometres from the airport, Reus’ claim to fame is that it’s the birthplace of Antoni Gaudi. The city itself is also pretty to wander around with some interesting modernist buildings. If you make it there, it’s worth heading up the bell tower of the Gothic church in Plaza de Sant Pere. From the top of the tower, you’ll be greeted with panoramic views of the Costa Dorada.
A little further away, Tarragona is a lively port city and a popular destination for many visitors to the region. The star attraction is the remains of a Roman amphitheatre, which has been given World Heritage Site status. The city centre boasts more historical sites from its Roman past and also has the benefit of having several lovely beaches too.
Other popular beach towns in the area include Salou and Cambrils to the east of Tarragona. And to the west of it, you’ll find Torredembarra and Calafell.
