San Sebastian Airport (EAS) | Car Hire | DriveSpain.com

San Sebastian Airport is on Spain’s northern coast right by the border with France. Along with Bilbao Airport, it’s one of two airports serving the Basque Country. San Sebastian is the smaller airport and only serves a few destinations including year-round flights to/from Barcelona Airport and Madrid Airport. Bilbao Airport is much bigger and serves a wider range of international and domestic routes. However, San Sebastian Airport is closer to the popular resort of the same name.

Enjoy more with a San Sebastian Airport car hire

Located on a beautiful bay called ‘La Concha’, which means ‘The Shell’, San Sebastian (Donostia in Basque) is a stunning city. It boasts several white sandy beaches (the main beach is also called La Concha) with a green mountainscape serving as its backdrop.

Mount Urgull is on one side of the bay and Mount Igueldo is on the other. Both are worth heading to the top of for fantastic views of the city. There is a funicular at Mount Igueldo if you’re not too keen on the hike up. The city’s old quarter at the bottom of Mount Urgull is another highlight. It’s here where you’ll find some of the city’s best Pintxo (a Basque tradition similar to tapas) bars. And if you’d like to learn more about the culture and history of the Basque Country, San Telmo Museum is where to go.

With a car hire, there’s more to enjoy of the Basque Country in both Spain and France. French Basque Country locations such as Hendaye, Saint Jean de Luz and Biarritz are all within an hour’s drive of San Sebastian. Bilbao, which is home to the Guggenheim Museum, is also worth a visit.
