Seville Airport is located in western Andalucia and is one of several airports serving the region. In addition to domestic routes, the airport operates a number of international routes including London, Manchester, Dublin, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Other airports relatively nearby in Andalucia include Jerez Airport and Malaga Airport.

Seville is the capital and cultural heart of Andalucia. It’s a beautiful city to explore full of stunning sites that you’ll keep wanting to take your camera out for. The most noteworthy sites include the Alcazar (Game of Thrones fans may recognise it!), Gothic cathedral and the magnificent Plaza de España. And beyond the old town, you’ll find more lovely areas for a stroll. Amongst them is the pretty riverside and the Maria Luisa Park. The Metropol Parasol is another fab place to walk and has become a contemporary icon for Seville. The honeycomb-like structure is a raised walkway designed to provide shade to those below and incredible views of the city to those above.
And because it’s the capital, Seville is one of the best places to sample two of the best-loved Andalucian traditions: tapas and flamenco. The city’s annual Feria de Abril (April Fair) celebrates Andalucian traditions in great colourful style. Held in Spring when the weather is still warm but not too hot, it’s a fabulous time to visit Seville.
With a car hire, there’s more to explore beyond the city. Beaches on the Costa de la Luz such as those at Matalascañas and Punta Umbria are around 100kms away. If you like sherry, it’s also worth heading south to the ‘Sherry Triangle’, which includes Jerez de la Frontera and Sanlucar de Barrameda.
