Zaragoza Airport is the main gateway to the Aragon region in northern Spain. In addition to a few domestic routes, the airport operates a number of international routes to and from destinations including London, Brussels, Bergamo and Bucharest. The closest big airports to it are Barcelona Airport and Madrid Airport. Both of these offer a wide variety of international and domestic routes.

A short drive from the airport, Zaragoza is the stunning capital of Aragon. The star attraction is the spectacular Basilica de Nuestra Señora de Pilar. The multi-domed and multi-towered Baroque church sits on the River Ebro. The result provides the city’s most picture-perfect moment. You can take a lift to the top of the north tower for more great views. Other historical and cultural highlights of the city include the Goya Museum and Caesaraugusta Theatre Museum. The Aljaferia is also a must. It provides an insight into the city’s Islamic past.
Beyond the region’s capital, there’s more to see of Aragon with a car hire. Outdoors lovers will want to head north for the Pyrenees. And one of the best places to enjoy the dramatic landscape is at the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park. The park is about 2 hours drive north of Zaragoza. But if you prefer a more gentle stroll around a picturesque village, you’re spoilt for choice in Aragon. Highlights include Belchite, Alquezar, Uncastillo, Albarracin and Torla.
