A subsidiary of Hertz, Firefly is a low-cost brand. The company also has locations in countries around the world including Italy, France, Croatia, Greece and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In Australia and New Zealand, the company is branded as Ace Rental Cars.

Firefly offers additional insurance cover called Super Cover. Depending on the location, this reduces or removes the excess on the car hire. The also sell personal insurance as an extra.
