Returning a car hire to Mallorca Airport

Palma de Mallorca Airport (we refer to it more simply as Mallorca Airport) is just a short 10 minute drive from the island’s capital and just a little bit further away from popular resort, Magaluf. Wherever you are on the island, you shouldn’t need to expect a particularly long drive to the airport – even the resorts along the bay of Alcúdia on the other side of the island are less than an hour away! But if you’ve got an early flight out, it’s worth staying a night (or few) in Palma de Mallorca or around the lovely beach area closest to the airport at Can Pastilla.

Driving from north of the airport? As you near the airport site, you should have the runway to your left. And you may well see planes taking off or close to landing right above you!

On-airport car hire

The car hire companies with an on-airport location and can be returned to the main car park here include: Hertz-Thrifty, Europcar-InterRent, Avis-Budget, Enterprise-Alamo-National, Goldcar, Sixt and RecordGo.

Driving to the airport

Mallorca Airport is located just off the Ma-19 motorway between Palma de Mallorca (to its north) and El Arenal (to its south). The airport is well signposted. If you are driving from Palma de Mallorca on Ma-19, take the exit at junction 7.

Rent-a-car Parking

As you near the airport, you’ll see a signs for Rental Car Return, which you should follow. They’ll lead you to the main car park. The coordinates of the car park are: 39.545828, 2.727301.

Stay in the left lane for Rental Car Return

Car rental parking is on two levels of the main car park. There is a sign before you reach the car park to tell you which level you need for which car hire company. As you can see from the picture below, most car hire is on the ground level (P0). That includes: Enterprise-Alamo-National, Avis-Budget, Goldcar-Rhodium, Europcar-InterRent, Sixt and RecordGo. Hertz-Thrifty are on the first level (P1).

Once inside, just follow signs to your car hire company returns spot. Each car hire company here has a desk within the car park so you can return the keys here too.

To the terminal

From the car park, you can walk to the main terminal either using the walkway on the ground floor or you can take the lift or escalators to the fourth level of the car park where you’ll find an above ground walkway that takes you directly to the departures level. If you do go straight up to the departures level, note that you’ll have to go down one level (there are escalators in departures you can use) to check-in or drop your luggage off to go into the hold.
